100% New Zealand Pork, PigCare Accredited

Look for the 100% New Zealand Pork, PigCare Accredited logo at your local butcher or supermarket to guarantee you are purchasing only pork that has been raised in NZ.

The blue rosette logo as shown here is available to all meat retailers (butchers, franchise butchers, and supermarkets) free of charge from New Zealand Pork. Meat retailers are audited to prove only 100% New Zealand pork is being used when these labels are used on-pack.

Only 100% New Zealand Pork is guaranteed to be:

• From pigs born and raised on New Zealand farms
• Produced according to New Zealand’s Animal Welfare (Pigs) Code of Welfare 2010
• Compliant with New Zealand’s stringent food safety standards

Why is New Zealand labelling important?

Every week 700,000 kgs of pork is imported into New Zealand from countries such as Canada, USA, Australia, China, Scandinavia and Denmark.

There is no requirement for this product to meet 100% New Zealand Pork’s strict standards. There is in fact no way the countries above could meet our standards! The only requirement imported product must meet is to be at a frozen temperature that meets our food safety standards.
