Sausage rolls!!!!!

There are few people who don’t enjoy devouring a sausage roll or two on a cool, Winter day and they’re even better when they’re homemade.

All you need to make super tasty sausage rolls at home is a handful of ingredients, a piping hot oven and a few hungry tummies.

In a bowl, combine 500g of New Zealand pork mince (plus 50g of bacon for a richer flavour), onion, parsley, tomato sauce and salt and pepper. Roll out your puff pastry (made from scratch or purchased from the supermarket) on a lightly

floured board and cut into two large rectangles. Arrange the sausage meat mixture lengthwise down the side of each rectangle and roll up (hot tip: brush the sides with a little milk or egg yolk if they’re not sticking). Cut your rolls to whatever size you desire and pop into the oven for 45 minutes at 220°C or until golden brown.

Serve with a fresh salad and dollop of tomato relish.

If you want to jazz up your sausage rolls add a dash of chilli, cheese or sage.
