Apple Sauce

Nothing goes with roast New Zealand pork like a delicious apple sauce.

2 tbsp lemon juice

1 ½ tbsp caster sugar

Prepare the apples

Peel, core and chop the apples. Combine the apples with lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of water in a saucepan.

Bring to the boil

Bring to the boil over medium to high heat. Reduce heat to medium, cover and cook for 15 minutes, or until apples are soft. Stir in sugar, and allow to cool.

Blend

Transfer mixture to a food processer and puree until smooth.

To serve

Serve warm or cold.
