Sticky Honey Pork Steaks with Mashed Potato and Corn Salad

New Zealand pork is versatile and when drizzled with this tasty 3-ingredient sticky marinade, it is delicious with mashed potatoes and a corn salad!

4 x New Zealand pork steaks

3 Tbsp honey

4 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 Tbsp light soy sauce

Mashed Potato

8 medium potatoes

2 cloves garlic

50g butter

1/2 c milk

3 Tbsp finely chopped chives

Salt

White pepper

Corn Salad

2 corn cobs

2 cups baby spinach or wild rocket

50g cherries, halved and pitted

1/4 red onion

1 Tbsp cider vinegar

Olive oil

Marinate the pork

Marinate the steaks in the honey, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce for at least 2 hrs.

Cook the pork

Heat a grill skillet and coat with oil. Transfer the steaks to the hot skillet, reserving the leftover marinade for later. Cook the steaks on one side for 6 mins, then on the other side for 2 mins. Remove from the heat and rest for 2 mins before serving or cutting.

Heat the remaining marinade and add 1 Tbsp of soy sauce to make it into a sauce. Drizzle pork steaks with sauce.

Air frying method

Preheat air fryer to 200°C. Cook for 12 minutes, and flip after 6 minutes. Rest for 2 mins before serving.

Mashed Potatoes

In a large saucepan of salted boiling water, cook the potatoes and garlic until soft. Drain and mash with butter and milk. Mix in the chives and season with salt and pepper.

Make the salad

In a large saucepan of salted boiling water, cook the corn for around 6-7 mins. Drain. Leave to cool before cutting off the corn kernels from the cob. Toss with the rest of the salad ingredients.
